Ethics in Fundraising: Putting Values into Practice (New Directions for Philanthropic Fundraising)

G. Marriane Briscoe, (Jossey-Bass Publishers Inc., 1994)
This groundbreaking sourcebook takes a major step toward developing a code of professional ethics for fund raisers. The examination of the fund-raising profession in the moral life of a civil society is the topic of the first three chapters. These chapters are meant to give fund raisers a better and more elevated view of their work as much as to help their donors, bosses, and friends understand that fund raising may be difficult work, but it is certainly not dirty work. The remaining five chapters deal with ethics and the practical issues of fund raising, such as personal and professional decision making, the nonprofit board of directors, compensation methods, research, and fund-raising management. This is the sixth issue of the quarterly journal New Directions for Philanthropic Fundraising. Softcover, 134 pages, $25
